It’s National Health IT Week, and Geneia is pleased to join more than 500 organizations as a partner. It’s a nationwide, annual event that celebrates health information technology and encourages people to apply information and technology as a catalyst of change within the healthcare system.

If you’re a frequent Geneia blog reader, you likely know we participated last year too. We posted employee stories from Geneia leaders like Kristy Tupper, director of business services and Natalie Benner, director of clinically integrated programs.

This year’s theme is supporting healthy communities with a focus on:

  • Advancing public and population health,
  • Modernizing the public health infrastructure,
  • Accelerating workforce development,
  • Expanding access to broadband and telehealth and
  • Addressing social determinants of health (SDoH)

As a company that is constantly working to improve the healthcare system, Geneia employees take great pride in supporting this celebration. Many Geneia employees have a very personal connection to the work that we do.

Health IT has the power and potential to continue to improve healthcare and the lives of patients and physicians. As we know well at Geneia, it has far-reaching and profound impacts on how care is delivered, measured and improved.

This year, we asked our employees to tell us what health IT means to them – in one word.

Geneia is happy to participate in National Health IT Week to remind us of the way health technology touches the lives of our employees and loved ones. National Health IT Week starts today and runs through September 27th.
