Ever felt like you’re too late to the party?
I recall feeling that way when we launched the Geneia blog in 2014. It seemed everyone already had one, and I wondered if people would read ours. They did, and they still do.
In fact, the Geneia blog is well-known in the healthcare industry for its informed perspective on quality performance, value-based care, social determinants of health, interoperability and physician burnout – and well-read.
I’ve learned over the years that it’s rarely too late – rarely too late to find your true love, to be a better mother, to qualify for the Leadville Trail 100 MTB, to reconnect with your best friend from middle school. Even to launch a podcast.
And so it is that I proudly announce Geneia Conversations: Redefining Healthcare.
In bite-size chunks of 15 minutes or less, the Geneia podcast spotlights what’s happening now – and what’s coming soon — to improve healthcare for patients, physicians, hospitals and health plans. Our conversations are focused on innovations in technology and analytics.
Geneia’s inaugural podcast, 9 Ways to Get Patients Back to the Office, is an interview with me. In the episode, I discuss how devastating the COVID-19 pandemic has been to physicians and hospitals that have experienced epic declines in patient visits and revenue as well as the challenge of getting patients to resume regular, preventive care. I share how patient fears about contracting COVID-19 can be addressed, how analytics and technology are helping, and more.
