As a principal data scientist at the Geneia Data Intelligence Lab, Sri uses leading-edge data analytics and machine learning to create elegant, refined and novel predictive models that improve the customer experience in delivering value-based healthcare. He brings a history of innovation and deep domain expertise across life science research and biotech/IVD product development.
Prior to joining Geneia, Sri worked in the diagnostics industry for seven years, most recently as a research and development leader at PerkinElmer, where he led research teams through the development of FDA-approved, mass spectrometry-based diagnostic tests and instrumentation for use in newborn screening. Following a career pivot to data science, while a health data fellow at Insight Data Science, Sri built the “Life Saver” app that returns risk labels and predictions for drug induced liver injury. Earlier in his career he held scientist, product development, product manager and research roles at diaDexus, Bio-Rad Laboratories and the University of Minnesota. Across these positions, Sri has contributed to 25 peer-reviewed publications, six patents issued/pending, and three FDA-approved medical device products.
Sri holds a master’s degree in data analytics from Northeastern University. He earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Georgia, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University. He has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University.
Sri serves on the Evidence-Based Toxicology Collaboration nonprofit as research fellow and member of the scientific advisory council.
